    I agree with what you said about grading on the curve. Last semester I had a class of student who were very motivated and worked very hard. The majority of them got As in the course and very few did badly. After my marks went in I was called under scrutiny by my department for making the “rookie mistake” of being too “generous”. Now I feel pressured to comply with expectations and can no longer truly trust my own judgment. Sadly this is done in spirit of exclusion and gradation rather than in the interest of my students.
